Meet Dr. Baldeep Bains

HALIFAX'S "LUMPS AND BUMPS" DOCTOR!

Dr Bains moved to Halifax in 2019 after having lived in two different continents and travelling all over the world as a doctor with the Royal British Navy, in search of a better work life balance for his young family.

He graduated from the University of Dundee in Scotland in 1999 having joined the British Navy whilst still a medical student. In his 16 years with the navy, he had an incredibly exciting, and sometimes dangerous journey serving both civilians and military personnel in conflict and non-conflict zones. It was during this time that he honed his skills in surgery and urgent medical care for his patients, whilst also completing his surgical training, resulting in his achievement of attaining his MRCS (Membership of Royal College of Surgeons).

He also trained in family practice and is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners United Kingdom. Following on from this, he decided to further specialise in Occupational Medicine with the University of Manchester and Aviation Medicine with King's College London which culminated in his appointment as the Medical Officer at Royal Naval Air Station, Yeovilton.

After leaving the British Navy in 2015, Dr Bains decided to pursue family medicine in the City of London whilst still continuing to offer minor surgical procedures to his patients. He also specialised in Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, with emphasis on testosterone optimisation and longevity medicine at Harpal Clinic in London, UK.

He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in both general medicine and niche areas such as TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) and minor surgery and as such, is a key asset to the healthcare community in Halifax. This has earned him a reputation akin to that of Dr. Pimple Popper, uniquely dubbed as Halifax's own Dr Hali Popper! He also continues his passion for aviation medicine today and is a medical examiner for Transport Canada Civil Aviation

In his free time, Dr Bains enjoys spending time with his friends and family and is especially invested in outdoor activities like skiing and tennis; cross fit and keeping fit. He also loves travelling and using his multilingual skills which always comes in handy not just during his travels, but also for the local Halifax community.

Dr. Baldeep Bains has a special interest in minor surgery, having performed numerous surgeries whilst in the British Military and throughout his practice in Halifax over the past 4 years. His proficiency in this area has earned him a reputation akin to that of Dr. Pimple Popper, uniquely dubbed as Halifax's own Dr Pimple Popper or being original, Dr Hali Popper!
